The British Women's Club is a non-profit social club for women. We meet regularly over a cup of coffee and have an organised programme of activities for members and their families. Please contact us at info@bwcmoscow.co.uk if you would like further information. If you would like us to call you back, please include your telephone number.

We hold our monthly meeting in the British Embassy and because of the security issues, our membership is only open to British passport holders and spouses or partners of British passport holders. If you are a foreign national with a British spouse/partner, you are required to provide a copy of your spouse/partner's passport when you join for security reasons.

Those who do not meet these criteria will be unable to join us at the monthly Embassy meetings but will be made welcome at the weekly coffee mornings at Koffein. Please contact the Newcomers' Coordinator at newcomers@bwcmoscow.co.uk or visit the Coffee Mornings page for more information.

Please see our membership page for more information about how to join.

Embassy meetings are suspended over the summer holidays, so the next BWC Embassy Meeting will be on Tuesday 14th September.

If you're a new member, you will need to have joined the BWC before the Embassy meeting in order to be on the security list. Click here for details of how to join. If you have any questions about membership, please contact members@bwcmoscow.co.uk.

Existing BWC members will be on the Embassy security list for the September meeting, but will need to make sure they renew their membership in order to be able to attend subsequent Embassy meetings.

Will you be spending the summer in Moscow? Would you like to escape the city heat and grime once a week?

  • The day trips will start during the second week in June and will be on Thursdays.
  • Lena from Patriarshiy Dom Tours will be our guide and we will visit historical homes of famous people, old monasteries and ancient churches, and see the beautiful countryside.
  • There's no need to arrange your own transport as we will be travelling together by coach, which will be organised by Lena. The travel time for most outings will be a maximum of 2 hours each way, with one or two exceptions.
  • You will pay weekly, so there's no need to commit to the whole summer!
  • This is open to the British Women's Club, the International Women's Club and the American Women's Organization. The meeting place will be Starlite Diner at Mayakovskaya.
  • The cost will depend on numbers, size of bus and length of trip, and will include tips.
  • Please email suecarver1@hotmail.com if you would like to be on the mailing list and for more information.

Hope you can join us!

...of British Nationals ('LOCATE')

The FCO recommends that British nationals and their families register when travelling or living abroad. A new registration system has been set up for this purpose, called LOCATE. To register online, visit http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travelling-and-living-overseas/Locate/; you will need to create a user name and password to enter the site. The only mandatory sections are those asking for personal and passport details and for travel/living information. LOCATE assumes everybody starts their travels from the UK (called a 'trip' in LOCATE), which could be a long weekend in Spain, a few weeks in South Africa or a few months/years living and/or working in Russia. You can only register for a maximum period of one year, which you can renew. If you fail to renew after receiving an email prompt near your expiry date, the system will discontinue any registration and you will have to set up a new registration.

Note: This service is not related to the British Women's Club, so please contact the British Embassy on telephone 956 7200 or email LOCATE using the form given on their website if you have any queries about this registration process.
