Chairlady's Letter

Dear Members,

I hope you are enjoying this lovely sunny holiday weekend. “Happy Women's Day!”

Embassy Coffee Morning: Tuesday 9th March from 10am-12noon
We hope to see you all there. Our artisan will be Diane Du Toit with her lovely jewellery and beaded items. Oksana from the Moscow Open Arts Theatre will be there to invite us to a new performance by her amazing group of disabled young people. Shona from ARC will be selling cards and gift wrapping paper and we will have the usual book sale and sign-ups for activities.

Newcomer Coffee Mornings: next meeting on Tuesday 16th March
The venue for our regular weekly Tuesday coffee morning has moved from Starbucks to Koffein, which is just next door at 19 Stary Arbat (Metro Arbatskaya). It's a new cafe and apparently much more pleasant. Please visit the coffee mornings page for more information.

BWC Notices
We are concerned that some people are not receiving our regular notices and newsletters. If you think that you may not be getting them all, please check your spam/junk folder and contact us at bwc_newsletter@yahoo.co.uk if you have a problem.

BWC Committee 2010-11
We really need to recruit new members for the Committee as soon as possible. I’m pleased that we have some volunteers already but we still need more, as many of us will be moving on in the summer. We need the following positions to be filled:

CHAIR
VICE CHAIR
NEWSLETTER/WEBSITE
MEMBERSHIP
ACTIVITIES/ARTISANS

Please step forward as we need to confirm the new Committee as soon as possible for a smooth transition to next year.

Note: Please make sure that you are on the Embassy's security list at least four days ahead of any event being held at the British Embassy (otherwise you will not be allowed in, even if you are a British passport holder).

If you are a BWC member but have not yet received any emails from us, please contact the Membership Secretary or Newsletter Coordinator, as we receive a few "undeliverable" email notifications every month (usually due to incorrect addresses and full inboxes). Thank you!
